We offer several types of barbells. Here are some general guidelines to reference when selecting the right bar for you. Also refer to the Barbell Comparison Chart for an overview of features of each bar, as well as each bar's product page for more detailed information.
Consider what type of workouts/movements your bar will be primarily used for. The following are recommendations regarding the type of lifter or movements each bar is ideal for. All of our bars are made of the same steel so will have a very similar whip and feel when lifting.
Eleiko Weightlifting Competition Bar: This bar is a certified IWF bar to be used in the Olympic weightlifting competition setting where totals will be reported to a governing body, such as USA Weightlifting.
Eleiko Weightlifting Training Bar: This bar is a certified IWF training bar. This all needle bearing bar is great for someone whose training consists primarily of Olympic weightlifting. This bar is designed for snatch, clean & jerk, squat, press, pulls etc.
Eleiko Power Lock Bar: This bar is the same as the Eleiko Weightlifting Training bar and has the additional benefit of the Power Lock feature, locking in the discs so no collar adjustments are necessary during multiple repetitions.
Eleiko Powerlifting Bars: This bar is perfect for someone who trains primarily powerlifting movements, squat, bench press and deadlift. This bar is an all bushing bar and would not be appropriate for someone who will be performing the snatch or the clean and jerk.
Eleiko Sport Training Bar: This all needle bearing bar is great for either someone who will be using this bar for Olympic weightlifting, high intensity workouts and/or powerlifting.
Eleiko XF Bar: This combination needle bearing and bushing bar is a great option for someone who is new to weightlifting or will be using the bar primarily for high repetition workouts, Olympic weightlifting and/or powerlifting. It has the least aggressive knurl of all of our bars.
Eleiko Technique Bars: The Eleiko Olympic weightlifting technique bars are perfect for basic technique work, beginners and youth weightlifters.
